Photography has always been a part of my live. When I was younger I loved photographing sporting events. Suffering, emotion, physical and mental challenges. Sports had it al. 

After my service in the Dutch armed forces I missed adventure and I especially missed the outdoors. A lot of my free time is now spent outdoors. Without my weapon, but with my camera by my side. Discovering the incredible beauty of nature,  I feel small when faced with the power of it. When a wild animal is a few meters in front of you. When you hear it breathe. When it looks at you, there’s an incredible intensity. 

It is then that I am in harmony with the environment. Completely disconnected, only paying attention to the nature surrounding you. These are my moments of serenity.

Through my imagery, i wish to emphasize the incredible beauty of nature, and convey that what we have left of nature is worth preserving.
